Why We Shut Down Every Winter To Improve The Buggies

Every winter Ragged Edge 4×4 closes for maintenance, upgrades and engineering improvements.

Most customers never see this side of the business. But it’s one of the most important parts.

In 2024 the buggies went to LCS 4×4 for major chassis work. The vehicles were lowered approximately three inches to improve stability and handling.

That may not sound dramatic. But in technical rock crawling, centre of gravity changes everything.

The lower the buggy sits, the more confidence customers feel on extreme angles.

And confidence changes how people drive.

The winter shutdown also allows us to inspect diffs, steering systems, driveline components and suspension geometry.

These are not factory vehicles. They are purpose-built machines that evolve constantly.

That continual refinement is a huge part of why customers say the experience feels so unique.
